Originally, I was making this pict to showcase Connie's awesome boots and created the image of a girl hunting dragons who ravaged her home. The story didn't ring true to me though and, as I added elements, I found a different story begin emerge instead. This one made a lot more sense to me and hopefully it does to you, too.
I leave you with the title. The rest of the story is up to you.
I don't know if this the archive stuff your talking about; can't believe I missed this in my Beautiful archers collection. So much story in nuance. Thanks for allowing me to fave and view.
Truly fascinating!! I have to say, the scary, cool, detailed atmosphere combined with the cute innocent children (the girl and the dragon) combined with motion is truly unique. Your world, especially your people, have this since of false realism ("false realism" is just my fancy way of saying "semi-realism", forgive me x'D) mixed in with realism that is uncanny. . . I love the texture and shine on the armor, especially--that has me very impressed.
The poses, the anatomy, the gadgets are great!! I love the lady's protective stance over the girl, it creates a sense of security in me. . . along with the little girl shielding the baby dragon which adds a hint of sweetness into all that is going on. The pointed objects sticking out of the ground give me chills. And I enjoy the coloring and shading you used in this piece, which mixes everything in nicely. I don't think this picture would feel the same in grey-scale, I think it'd feel very different--if not in lack of feeling.
Very beautiful piece!!! I love the amount of work, passion, time, and effort you put into this! It must have taken you a long while to do. I hope to see more from you!!! I am very impressed in your skills!
I'm left completely speechless. The storytelling in this image is superb! I wish I could click on this picture and it would become a movie or a book. Hell, I'd write it myself if I thought I could do this image justice. Just amazing.
You're such a doll!!! Hearing that you can see a story in my art is one of the best things I could possibly hear -- to me, all art is about a story. If I can make even just -one- person see, think, or feel a story, then I've done my job. Thank you!!
My pleasure! I was a writer before I was an artist so when I come across an image like this that pulls me into it and sets the Muse poking at me, it's really a joy. So thank YOU!
I swear, you work is so amazing I can't stop looking at your stuff! By the way, you inspired me to get off my bum and take an art class or two, to get my skills polished up! Well, I just started off with 2D design this semester, we'll see what direction I take after that.
Hee. Whenever you say that, I can't decide whether to blush, hide my head in the sand, or remind you that it's your awesome modeling that makes it so I can make pretty pictures!! How about all three?!
Class has been my major reason why I haven't caught up on pictures lately, but I'm really, really, really glad you got the chance to go back to school! That is such awesome news!!!! It's kinda crazy, but some of those classes can really change how you see the world, yaknow? I never really realized that -- until after the lessons started to sink in. There's so much awesome info out there, too!
