Awaken, The Guardian by NightsongWS Awaken, The Guardian by NightsongWS
Entry for the "Dawn of the Dark" contest held by Renderosity in October 2005. This scene depicts a gargoyle-like guardian breaking free of her stone confines as the sun sets, ever-vigilant against intrusion into the lands she watches over.

The design notes for this deviation may be found here: [link] .

I love the idea and composition of this. You have such original concepts.

Thanks!! I only seem to be able to concentrate on a picture if I've got a story to go on. Now all I need to do is get my art to match the pictures in my mind! :D

That's just it, isn't it? To get your ideas down on paper/onto the screen. *sigh* I think you are closer to achieving it than I am.

It varies. If I'm inspired or have a really great idea to work with, I can get a picture done in the space of a few hours. More often I'll spend anywhere from a few days, to a couple weeks, on a piece and I usually am working on a few at once.

This particular picture took me a few days, mostly because the amount of meshes I originally had in it kept crashing Bryce. Sometimes I think my lot in life is to find new and usual ways to make low-memory-draining pictures. ;)
