ATTENTION, ART INSTITUTE STUDENTS!(Yes, this is worth capital letters.)
I just received this letter both from my academic advisor and the internal Campus Common messaging system:
Please be advised that effective May 10th, 2012, there will be a change to the attendance policy in the online classroom. Currently, all assignments in the classroom are due by 3:00 A.M. Mountain Time (MT). Effective May 10th, 2012, all assignments will be due by 11:59 P.M. MT. This means that all assignments will be due by 11:59 P.M. MT by the date posted in the classroom for each assignment. For an example of how this new policy will work, this is from the new policy that will be posted in the classroom on May 10th, 2012:"A one-day period is defined as the period of twenty-four hours from 12:00 A.M. MT to 11:59 P.M. MT the following day. For a post to count as attendance towards a particular day, it must be completed within this time period. For example, if a student posts on Tuesday 11:58 P.M. MT, it counts as attendance for Tuesday. If the same student posts seven minutes later at 12:05 A.M. MT, it counts as attendance on Wednesday."Information about this policy change will be available in the Campus Common, in your classroom, from your faculty and your Academic Counselor. With your academic success in mind,The Art Institute of Pittsburgh - Online ProgramsThis means that our schedule is shifting by three hours
in the middle of our current classes. This is not a change that takes effect after the current session but, rather, in just over a week! This change takes place in the middle of Week 4 for second-session classes and on the first day of Week 10 for 11-week classes.
Be aware! Be warned!
Most of us now effectively have three hours less in our class day this quarter!!__________________________________________________________________________________

On the RoadStarting on Friday, I will be out town and on the road, house-sitting/puppy-sitting for my aunt and uncle while they go on their annual trip. I will be home, on and off, during this time but I will not actually
be home until the end of May, and the end of the current (hectic) school quarter. I will have a laptop, internet, and my cellphone, so folks should still be able to reach me. Just don't call me at home because I probably won't be there.

Just cross your fingers for me that I actually remember to copy everything to my portable drive before I go!!!
